The Golden Leaves Institute offers a new dynamic program that allows young Jewish adults to become savvy executives in the business world, while also educated in Torah values. Our program is designed for upcoming entrepreneurs, innovators and promising young leaders. Our goal is to help our participants develop into future role models for Jewish communities.
Our program has attracted English speaking participants from the Jewish communities of the U.S., Israel, Brazil, England, Colombia and Mexico. By joining emerging Jewish professionals from such prominent and diverse communities around the world we are creating a strong network of like-minded individuals. This network will not only benefit the participant’s future from a business perspective, but also promote positive unity between Jewish communities worldwide.
The students will begin their morning with Shacharit, followed by breakfast, and a small shiur. The students will then go to their respective internships, which will be discussed with them prior their arrival to Shanghai based on their interests and majors in the business field. We will offer internships in fields like marketing, management, and international trade. After their internships they will have an intensive course in YCC to learn Mandarin for two hours. Following their classes the students will arrive to the house where there will be dinner and Arbit.
We will bring businessman and entrepreneurs once a week to talk about how to make business in China. There will be also a shiur once a week related to business and halacha topics.
Students will learn the industry at first hand by visiting cultural sites, main Chinese cities, factories and selling centers in which they will learn how to negotiate and expose themselves to products that could be brought to their countries.
The program is based on the necessity that the students have to get an internship during the summer in their years in University, Also the economic expansion that China is having brings a lot of interest in the students that age to become part of it and open their minds to new business ideas. Not forgetting about the fact that we are Jews and have certain obligations and code of law on how to behave in the business world.
